“I travel a lot; I hate having my life disrupted by routine.”– Caskie Stinnett

I got a chance to go in a cruise ship From Helsinki to St. Petersburg along with my friends in October 2011.

We had taken the St.Peter’s Line cruise ‘Princess Maria’ from Helsinki Port. It’s an overnight journey from Helsinki to St. Petersburg and vice-versa, we had booked our cabins/berth’s well in advance.

On board’, we have restaurants, bars, excellent duty-free shopping, great music & entertainment, gym and so on.

St. Petersburg is one of the most beautiful cities in Russia. This is a city with a great history and culture. The best thing with this city is that you can see Architectural brilliance at every corner. There are many churches and cathedrals across the city.

Summer is the best time to visit this beautiful city.

Public transport is good. Travelling within this city is quite cheaper.

I think 2-3 days will be a good itinerary, if you plan a St Petersburg trip.

Some destinations that you can look for:

Peter and Paul fortress

The Winter Palace and the Palace Square

Grand Peterhof Palace and Grand Cascade

Hermitage Museum

St. Issacs Cathedral

Church of the Saviour on Spilled Blood

Kazan Cathedral

Mariinsky Theatre
